Aylestone from Hamlet to Suburb

Come and explore how Aylestone grew from Saxon hamlet through a place where drove roads, the canal and then the railway passed through, to a period of huge expansion in the late nineteenth and early 20^th century. We’ll visit the church with its long chancel, notable windows, chest and mediaeval bell, and Aylestone Park with its mediaeval Manor House.
