Long Street, The Wigston street with a long history
May 30 @ 10:30 am – 11:45 am
**Please note that this Wigston walk is limited to 15 people and is now fully booked**
Something new for the Leicester Civic Society, a chance to explore this part of Wigston.
We are delighted that this walk will be led by Peter Cousins of the Greater Wigston Historical Society.
On this guided walk we will walk along Long Street learning about its history from the Civil War to World War Two, and beyond.
We will hear, amongst other things, about the poverty that was in the area and about the well off businesspeople who lived and had their businesses close by.
This walk will finish back near the Conservative Club.

A bus stop signed ‘Frederick Street’ is a short walk from the Conservative Club.
On street parking is also available nearby.
Led by Peter Cousins
Start at 10.30am from outside the Wigston & District Conservative Club, 38 Long Street, Wigston. LE18 2AH
Finish at approximately 11.45am.
