Station to Station: Victorian Stamford
19/10/2024 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Meet at Stamford Railway Station, our walk starts at 10 am.
There is a 9.12 am train from Leicester that arrives at Stamford at 9.53 am. Car parking is available in the more distant of the two station car parks and nearby at the larger car park between Gresley Drive and the river.
The walk leader is Mike Taylor.
We are delighted that Mike Taylor, conservation specialist and urban historian, will be leading this tour of Victorian Stamford.
The tour focuses on the Victorian buildings of Stamford which are easily overlooked because of everything else in the town and because they were generally designed to fit in and are built/faced in Jurassic limestone.
This is a somewhat longer walk than our regular ones and will probably last about 2 and a half hours. Of course, in Stamford, there are numerous places where you might like to stop for lunch if the walk concludes at approximately 12.30 pm.
A great day out is in store!

Our normal walk charges apply, £5 for members and £7 for non-members, and this does not include any transport expenses.
