Why not visit a whole host of buildings around Leicester, many of which are not normally open to the public for a guided walk or an unguided visit. A brochure will be available from various locations including the Richard 3rd Visitor Centre, nearer the time with opening times and booking details included. Please note that the Heritage Open Days are NOT run by the Leicester Civic Society, although LCS will be providing two FREE guided walls as part of the Leicester Heritage Open Days 2026, the first is detailed below.

Wharf Street

A walking tour along Leicester’s Wharf Street which is perhaps one of the less glamourous parts of Leicester but does include plenty of social and building histories along the way.

This walk will finish near Leicester College on Belgrave Road.
This walk is Free of Charge, but please book a free ticket below.
Led by James Gunn
Start at 11.00am outside Curve theatre, Rutland Street.
Finish at approximately 1.00pm
