Our AGM is coming next month – All Welcome!

Saturday, June 22nd at the Secular Hall, Humberstone Gate.

We are delighted to announce that the keynote speaker at this year’s AGM will be Grant Butterworth, Head of Planning at Leicester City Council. He will be making a presentation about Leicester’s Waterside/Sock Island redevelopment. Grant will be comparing the Waterside and Wolsey developments, how properly funded municipal-led regeneration can be quicker, more cohesive and comprehensive than market-led delivery, the Simpson Towers story, and will consider the future of some of the remaining industrial buildings in the Frog Island area. He’s also promised to show us scary flood risk maps! Not to be missed.

The AGM begins at 2 pm, to conduct Leicester Civic Society business – the Agenda is below.

At 2.50 pm there will be a break to stretch legs.

Grant’s talk will follow at 3 pm.

Refreshments will be available.

CONSTITUTION

The revisions to the constitution do not make any fundamental changes, but tidy up some repetition and remove two officer posts that we no longer need, their functions having been distributed to other committee members. If you write to secretary@leicestercivicsociety.org.uk we can can have a copy of the constitution with changes highlighted.
