Aylestone from Hamlet to Suburb

Come and explore how Aylestone grew, from a Saxon hamlet to a place where drove roads, the canal and then the railway passed through, to a period of huge expansion in the late nineteenth and early 20th century. We’ll visit the church with its long chancel, notable windows, chest and mediaeval bell and Aylestone Park and its mediaeval manor House. Photo: Aylestone Packhorse Bridge.
