Leicester’s Waterside/Sock Island redevelopment

We are delighted to announce that Grant Butterworth, Head of Planning at Leicester City Council, will be making a presentation about the Waterside redevelopment on Tuesday 3rd September starting at 5.30 pm, at City Hall. Grant will compare the Waterside and Wolsey developments, the Simpson Towers story, and examine how properly funded municipal-led regeneration can be quicker and more cohesive than market-led delivery, and will consider the future of some of the remaining industrial buildings in the Frog Island area. He has also promised to show us scary flood risk maps! (This is the talk originally planned for our June AGM).
